Wellbeing Support during the Holidays
Whilst holidays can be time for relaxation, it can also be a challenging time for families with changes in routine. Keeping a check on our families, including our mental health and wellbeing is very important.
Attached are some services that can help families with support during the holidays, and at other times, when needed. This includes SchoolTV, a wellbeing resource designed to empower parents/carers with realistic and practical support strategies.
Wishing everyone and safe and relaxing holiday.
Term 4 Dates
Please check COMPASS for dates in Term 4. We will send out our term planner when we return from holidays.

Peer Support
This fortnight in Peer Support, the children discussed their skills and how to communicate their feelings and needs to others. The children discussed the skills that they use when participating in a variety of activities.
When children understand they already have many of the skills needed to succeed, they can feel more confident when trying something new. In their sessions, the groups were asked to identify events which trigger different feelings.
Another focus for our peer support groups this fortnight, was to revise what had been learned about resilience as well as discuss people who show them support. Children identified a range of challenges and determined the best person to approach for support. They consolidated protective factors for resilience by revising their own strengths/skills and identify 5 people they can go to for support.
Tips and discussion points for families at home:
- Encourage your child to remember the skills they have used in one activity when trying something new.
- Remind your child of their qualities/skills and encourage them to ask for help in challenges.
Learning Goals
As we approach the mid-point for Semester 2, it is timely for our students to commence reflecting upon their learning goals. Over the holidays, I encourage families to have a discussion with their child/ren around how they feel they are going with their learning goals.
- What is your learning goal?
- How are you going and how do you know?
- Discuss what else they could do to help achieve their learning goal.
